WIE Support Fund 2017

 

Call for Proposal to Bid for R10 WIE Support Fund 2017-

R10 WIE committee invites SECTIONs to submit proposals to bid for WIE support fund.


Scope of proposals-

All proposed projects should meet the Mission and Vision of IEEE WIE:

Sample Programs-

  1. Conference

R10 WIE Promotes the setting up of WIE Tracks or sessions or workshops in conferences held in R10 as well as local sections, where how to inspire, engage and empower the contributions of women in science and technology worldwide is to be discussed. Proposals are welcomed from interested sections, Society Chapters and conference organizers.

  1. Congress/Forum

R10 WIE also promotes WIE congresses/forums to be organized to make networking between the members.

  1. STAR Program

This educational outreach program promotes involvement of IEEE members with local junior and high schools in order to create a positive image of engineering careers. For more information, please visit http://www.ieee.org/web/membership/women/star.html

  1. Other Activities

Proposals are not restricted to above activities. New innovative proposals are also welcome and funding will be allocated. For example, professional and career development program, development/outreach program to rural areas, entrepreneurship development and Industry engagement.


Conditions-

Each SECTION can submit one project proposal, which could combine up to 3 program/activity events.

Each activity should meet WIE Mission & Vision/scope and should be held between June to October 2017. If the activity/expense reports are not submitted on time, the SECTION cannot receive the WIE fund.

SECTION is encouraged to coordinate with SECTION WIE AG and Student Branch WIE AGs to comprehensively and strategically propose WIE activities.

Proposal must be endorsed and submitted by either Section WIE Chair or Section Chair.

 

[Mandatory requirement] Policy of Section matching fund:

  1. Large SECTION must cover at least 50% of the proposed project(s) cost.
  2. Medium SECTION must cover at least 25% of the proposed project(s) cost.
  3. Other sources of support with equivalent percentage can be considered in case there is no support from SECTION.

The funding support of each proposal is limited up to USD 500. Please quote the budget in US dollars only (please do not use local currency in the proposal).
